January 28, 2026

At ITC Vegas, we partnered with Wisedocs, a leader in AI medical records summary, to better understand how trust in AI is forming across the claims ecosystem and explore how claims professionals evaluate AI in practice. Through a series of conversations with industry leaders recorded at the Wisedocs booth, we explored how much trust AI earns on its own, how that trust changes when expert review is involved, and where AI is having, or could have, the greatest impact across the claims document review process.

In this instalment, we speak with Sean Gilday, Vice President, Head of Network at Manchester Story, about trust in AI for claims document review. Sean notes that AI is likely to be a critical part of insurance going forward, but emphasizes that for tasks like document management, acceptance by the people using the technology is key. As he puts it, “Trust in the outputs is going to be imperative” . During the interview he also highlights that human review to validate data and ensure quality is particularly important in the early stages, with the level of human involvement evolving as comfort with AI grows.
