At ITC Vegas, we spoke with Madalina Preda, U.S. Managing Director at Alchemy Crew Ventures, about how venture-driven collaboration is reshaping the insurance landscape. Preda discusses her role in building Alchemy Crew’s presence in the U.S. and working closely with insurance executives, startups, and scale-ups to advance innovative products across financial services.

In the interview Madalina also shares insights into the Risk Futures Lab, a venture-led platform focused on co-designing and executing insurance solutions for emerging and systemic risks. Rather than taking a traditional incubator or consultancy approach, the Risk Futures Lab brings together industry stakeholders to address challenges such as disaster risk, AI implementation, cyber threats, and the implications of an aging population. Preda explains how this model aligns with broader efforts around sustainable insurability and resilient communities, including collaboration with cities and counties on post-disaster rebuilding strategies.
