The Loro Padel Tournament brought together brokers, insurers and MGAs from across the Lloyd’s of London market for an afternoon of networking and competition. While there, we had the opportunity to speak with Loris Candylaftis, CTO & Co-Founder of Loro, about the company’s growth, its expanding distribution platform, and the milestones that have shaped its journey.

Loris discusses how Loro is helping it’s customers to distribute specialty insurance products more efficiently through a global broker network. He explains how the platform supports thousands of brokers across multiple lines of business, giving insurers greater control over distribution while simplifying the management of large broker networks. Reflecting on the company’s growth, he explains: “We have about in the platform, I would say about 40 to 50 different product lines. Thousands of brokers use it and about 40 customers right now… our solution gives you the possibility to distribute specialty insurance through a network of brokers… We make that happen in a super efficient way, where they keep the control and they can manage a network of hundreds or thousands of brokers super easily and very quickly.”

Loris also reflects on the company’s progress since participating in the Lloyd’s Lab, highlighting the milestones that have supported its continued growth. Discussing the importance of compliance, he explains: “Since the Lloyd’s lab 2 or 3 years passed, many things changed. I would say that the main accomplishments since then were apart from funding that we got, I would say the compliance side was a major obstacle and objective. So basically that means GDPR compliance and SOC two type two, which gives us access to all those tier one players that require such compliance through certificates.”
