Trust, Technology and Transformation: Itay Mishan, Chief Technology Officer, Wisedocs
At ITC Vegas, we partnered with Wisedocs, a leader in AI medical records summary, to better understand how trust in AI is forming across the claims ecosystem and explore how claims professionals evaluate AI in practice. Through a series of conversations with industry leaders recorded at the Wisedocs booth, we explored how much trust AI earns on its own, how that trust changes when expert review is involved, and where AI is having, or could have, the greatest impact across the claims document review process.
In this interview, we speak with Itay Mishan, Chief Technology Officer at Wisedocs about the technical considerations behind AI in claims document review. The discussion covers how integrating human-in-the-loop oversight helps ensure accuracy and compliance, the innovations claims documentation platforms have implemented to address common accuracy and compliance risks, and how AI is expected to evolve in insurance claims over the coming years. Itay emphasizes that “the most important aspect of this involvement of AI in this space is defensibility and making sure that the results that are being outputted to our customers are accurate, defensible and hyperlinked to the actual source records.” He also reflects on insights gained from Wisedocs processing over 100 million claims documents and how that scale informs the design of AI systems for claims review.
