Trust, Technology and Transformation: Robin Spaulding, Head of Insurance, Roots
At ITC Vegas, we partnered with Wisedocs, a leader in AI medical records summary, to better understand how trust in AI is forming across the claims ecosystem and explore how claims professionals evaluate AI in practice. Through a series of conversations with industry leaders recorded at the Wisedocs booth, we explored how much trust AI earns on its own, how that trust changes when expert review is involved, and where AI is having, or could have, the greatest impact across the claims document review process.
In this installment, we speak with Robin Spaulding, Head of Insurance at Roots, who shares here perspective on the areas which AI could have the most positive impact on in the claims document review process, as well as whether AI generated outputs alone can be relied on by claims professionals. During the interview Robin explains that while she “would trust AI, claim documentation automation to help bring data to the attention of the adjuster, AI should never, ever make a claims adjudication decision”.
