Climate Tech A Focus For Insurance Leaders At Insurtech Insights Europe, 2024

Climate Tech, sustainability and new insurance solutions will be addressed by a number of key industry figures at Insurtech Insights Europe 2024.

Europe’s largest Insurtech conference has confirmed several expert speaker sessions and panels that will lead the discussion and present new solutions, at Europe’s largest insurance conference, which opens on March 20th at InterContinental London – The O2. More than 6,000 attendees, 400 speakers and an estimated 20,000 meetings, will be taking place over the two-day conference, which sees the world’s biggest names in insurance converge annually in central London.

Generali UK’s Head of Parametric Underwriting, Simon Edwards, will be taking to the Purple stage along with a panel of experts to explore the latest opportunities for the innovations in a session entitled: Tackling Climate Change Risk at its Core: The New Ways.

Edwards focuses on parametric offerings and collaborates closely on leveraging insurance solutions to tackle the business obstacles presented by climate conditions.. His professional experience has been gained through over a decade of post-doctoral research and commercial roles developing, assessing and running a variety of natural catastrophe models.

Commenting recently on the parametric revolution – and why the industry must stay abreast of change. He said: “Helping businesses recover rapidly after a weather or natural hazard loss is key to continuing operating profitably – it’s important for business resilience to understand if they will have sufficient cash and unused credit lines or borrowing facilities to meet short-term needs.”

Edwards will be joined by fellow panellist Freddie Scarrat, Deputy Global Head Insurtech for Gallagher Re, and Roman Beilhack, Munich Re’s Global Head of Green Technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things Underwriting. The session will be moderated by Josh Cohen, Director of Liberty Mutual Ventures.
