Sixfold launches Condition-Based Insights and Core Clinical Data to match L&H underwriter logic
Leading underwriting AI company Sixfold has unveiled a major upgrade to its Life & Health product, launching Condition-Based Insights and Core Clinical Data to transform how underwriters
evaluate applicants’ medical information to underwrite with greater speed, accuracy, and consistency.
Previously, Sixfold’s L&H product presented underwriters with factual data from disparate supplemental documentation, such as personal health, medications, procedures, family health, and lifestyle.
This upgrade transforms this process, giving underwriters full insight into an applicant’s medical condition, making it far easier for them to connect the dots and understand the full context, severity, and progression. Not only does this result in faster, fairer, and more informed decision-making, but it ultimately helps carriers to grow premium by underwriting faster and more effectively.
“Underwriters shouldn’t have to play detective with medical records,” said Alex Schmelkin, Founder and CEO of Sixfold. “By now integrating a conditions-based experience and relevant clinical health data into the overall assessment, they get a full picture of each case, instantly. This reduces manual review time, increases accuracy, and helps insurers write more premiums.”
Early feedback from underwriters shows just how significant the shift is. They can now see the health story much more clearly at a glance, and with Sixfold automatically connecting the dots across a patient’s record, insights come together seamlessly.
This improves underwriting performance across several critical areas:
● Faster case reviews – conditions automatically link related diagnoses, treatments, and historical procedures, so underwriters spend less time piecing together information
● Clearer lab insights – Core Clinical Data standardises results for vital signs, cardiovascular health, and hematology, showing normal ranges and trends over time
● More accurate, consistent underwriting – structured, condition-based views reduce variability across underwriters and support fairer outcomes
The impact of Sixfold is already being felt by early adopter Guardian, one of the largest life insurers in the U.S., which has achieved a 50% reduction in case review time with Sixfold by cutting manual data gathering and accelerating Disability underwriting. Following early success, Guardian is now expanding Sixfold’s technology across more lines of underwriting.
Schmelkin added: “We’re building AI that mirrors how underwriters actually think by connecting the dots across medical facts to present the full health story. What used to take hours to piece together manually, they are now able to see in minutes.”
